Glossary

The words EmailElement uses for its own parts, and what each one means. Every term here has a page of its own that covers it properly, linked in the last column.

The words

Term	What it is	Where it is covered
Brand	The company name and postal address that appear in the footer of every email sent from its Sender Domains, along with the header, footer and unsubscribe page those emails use.	/brands
Contact List	A set of contacts you send to, built by uploading a file, adding a record by hand, or through the Contact API. Importing an address already on the list updates it rather than adding it twice.	/contact-lists
Delivery Events	The log of what happened to every email: submitted, sent, bounced, failed, opened, clicked.	/delivery-events
Email Content	What gets sent: one or more templates, with the subject lines, from names and preheader text that go with them. Holding several of each in one Email Content is how you A/B test.	/email-contents
Jump Page	A page shown to a contact after they click a tracked link and before they reach where that link points.	/pages-and-forms/jump-pages
Scheduled Email	One send: the content, who gets it, which Send Integrations carry it and when it goes. It can go once, repeat weekly, or run as a warm-up.	/schedule
Seed Import	Monitored addresses you send to alongside real contacts, so you can see where your email is landing. Live seeds import into a Contact List; dead seeds import into a Suppression List.	/contact-lists/seed-imports
Segment	A saved set of rules that picks contacts out of your lists, by email domain, by which list they are on, by a field on the contact, by something they did, or by what validation returned.	/segments
Send Integration	The account at an email service provider that actually carries your email.	/send-integrations
Sender Domain	The domain your email goes out from, and the From and Reply-To addresses your recipients see.	/sender-domains
Suppression List	Who must not be emailed. Entries can be plain addresses, whole domains, wildcard patterns or hashes, and a list can be made global so it applies to every send in the account.	/suppression-lists
Transactional Relay	The settings the Transactional Email API sends with: which Send Integration carries the email, which Suppression Lists apply, and whether a Jump Page is used.	/transactional-emails
Triggered Sequence	A send that goes by itself when a contact does something: joins a list, opens, clicks, converts. You draw the flow of emails, waits and conditions once.	/triggered-sequences
Warm-up	A new domain or IP has no sending reputation, and a full day of volume on its first day is what gets it filtered. A warm-up raises the daily volume gradually instead, on a schedule you set on the Scheduled Email.	/best-practices/warm-up

Words that mean the same thing

A few terms turn up under more than one name, usually because an email service provider calls it something else.
