smtp.com

SMTP.com has a couple of quirks with the way integrations are created in their system.

Webhook Setup

SMTP.com set up requires a channel to be created then that channel is used when setting up the webhooks. When you save your send integration, we create the channel then immediately attempt to set up webhooks but their system sometimes gives an error that the channel does not exist. If this occurs, you will be prompted to re-save your send integration after waiting a minute or so.

Global Restriction

When setting up an smtp.com send integration, an smtp user will be created in your smtp.com account. This user has to be globally unique in SMTP.com's system. You may see an error as shown below if your user already exists on smtp.com. If this happens, choose a different smtp username.

Set Up smtp.com in EmailElement

1. Go to Send Integrations and click Create Send Integration.
2. Choose the integration type, pick smtp.com from the list, and click Next.
3. Enter a name for the integration.
4. Select one or more sender domains. A validated domain carries a green tick and is ready to send from.
5. Enter the SMTP username you want. It has to be one nobody else on smtp.com is already using, as above. The user itself is created in your smtp.com account when you save.
6. Custom Headers are optional, and go on every email this integration sends.
7. Click Create.

Test the Integration

1. Click Run Test on the integration.
2. The result is reported for each sender domain on it.
3. One domain succeeding is enough for the integration to go active.
